How To Be A More Effective Animal Activist

There is only so much time in a day, only so many days in our lives.

Do not waste one precious minute of your life arguing with people who defend eating meat, wearing fur, or voting for conservatives.

If they are opposed to your position on animals, stop right there!

It is a stupid waste of time to try to turn people around. There are many people who would be receptive to what you believe and what you have to say.

Spend your time talking to them, not to the enemy.

Carnists and conservatives have no interest in animals or in your beliefs.

They are amusing themselves at your expense. There is zero chance that you can enlighten them or recruit them.

The world is full of low hanging fruit that we can reach and recruit. It is ridiculous to try reaching those beyond reason and beyond caring.

There are people out there who are just waiting to learn. People who care about animals. People who will be receptive to our message. People who are empathetic, compassionate, caring, and openminded.

People who are reasonable, fair-minded, inquisitive, and rationale.

People totally unlike the trolls we meet online and the obnoxious people we know as family, neighbors, co-workers, and acquaintences.

Resolve to spend your time productively for the animals. Resolve to block anyone who hastles or argues with you online. Resolve to walk away from arguments and confrontations. Resolve to save your breath and your temper.

The animals are more important than the assholes who bait you.

Remember, talk to friends, not enemies.

Engage people who care, not people who don’t.

  1. I just had to block someone on Facebook who compared me to a poacher for opposing animal rape! I’m not kidding. Here is the message, from:

You’re as bad as those poaching. The world is not black and white as you so seem to think. I can name 3 species that would be extinct today if the zoo didn’t “rape.” By the way, try educating yourself on their breeding programs. It’s far from rape.
