ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), also known as ISIL (Islamic State in the Levant), is attempting to establish a theocracy in the region.
While the tactics of ISIS differ substantially from those of right wing Christian fundamentalists in the US, there is little difference in their ultimate goals.

One might think it curious that conservative fundamentalists are the most vehement in calling for military action against ISIS, considering their philosophical similarities. In fact, religious fanaticism always causes conflict and rivalries. My god is bigger than your god, only we go to heaven, etc.
The most bizarre belief of religious fanatics is that they must help their god out. Apparently the god who created everything is not able to defend himself, incapable of controlling events, and requires mere mortals to pass laws on his behalf.
If anything, ISIS fundamentalists demonstrate the horrors of religion run amok, and provide insight to the mentality if fanaticism.
Yes, ISIS is right.
There is an old Arabic adage: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. ISIS and Islamic fundamentalists are enemies of capitalism and capitalist states around the world. It is ironic that such a barbarous cult could well be allies of the political left in Europe, Asia, and Africa. And it may be that the left in America furthers the left in Europe, Asia, and Africa by ending US involvement in adventurism in the Middle East and drone strikes and military attacks against ISIS.
