Thought Of The Day. January 16, 2016

Instead of posting status updates on Facebook, I am now posting each apothegm, thought, observation, and witticism, here, as a Thought Of The Day.
Status updates on Facebook disappear into the ether and cannot be relocated by readers.

Today’s Thought:

I have no illusions that either Hillary or Bernie will or can accomplish anything at all. The difference being that Bernie will grow the party base where Hillary will not. Defending a failed Hillary presidency in 2018 and 2020 will preclude us from winning enough statehouses and legislatures to prevent continued Republican gerrymandering of the House. Which will mean Republicans will control the House until 2030. And under a president Hillary or a Republican, corporate control of the government will continue as it has.

Author’s Notes:

I am unaware of any other blog with the Armory’s mission of radicalizing the animal movement. I certainly hope I am not alone, and that there are similar sentiments being expressed by comrades unknown to me.

If you know of other blogs dedicated to animal rights and the defeat of capitalism, please comment with a link.

• Be sure to follow the Armory and share it with your Facebook friends and email contacts, as well as on Twitter, Google, and all other social media platforms. Our influence and effectiveness is dependent upon you!

Natasha Sainsbury, of Good Karma Graphic Design, has joined Armory of the Revolution as Editor, and is responsible for the transformation of the blog’s appearance. Visit and follow her blog V Kind.

If you are not already subscribed to the Armory, please do so before you leave.

There’s a button to Follow us in the upper right sidebar.

• Be sure to visit Armory of the Revolution’s new commissary and bookstore: The Supply Depot

You will find recommended reading on Animal Rights, revolutionary theory, politics, economics, religion, science, and atheism. There is also a section of supplies for animal liberationists, hunt saboteurs, and social revolutionaries. This is all brand new, and we will be adding lots more merchandise in the near future!

Feel free to comment. I encourage open discussion and welcome other opinions. I moderate comments because this blog has been attacked by hunters and right wing trolls. I approve comments that are critical as well as those which agree with me. Comments that I will not tolerate are those that are spam, threatening, disrespectful, or which promote animal abuse and cruelty.

  1. So someone who kills wild animals for pleasure is no worse than a person who eats meat? Your veganist dogma that all souls are equal is far too religious for me. The more you praise Bernie, the better Hillary sounds.

    • The belief that all sentient life is equally valuable is not based upon religious hocus-pocus, but upon both science and ethics. And if my praise for Bernie causes you to embrace Hillary, then the criteria you use border on the absurd.

    • Being pro-hunting is no worse than being a carnist. Sanders is a carnist, which I personally find reprehensible. But as animal advocates, we must support whichever candidates would do the most good for animals, or at the very least, cause the least harm. Sanders’ voting record in the Senate is second to none on animal issues.

Businesses are the greatest cause of animal cruelty and murder. The capitalist system itself is the problem. And under unfettered capitalism, government is the enabler and apologist for capitalism. Sanders would replace the corporate bribery system of campaign financing with public financing p campaigns, and he would ban gifts to public officials. Such legal bribery as gifts and campaign contributions are the way the oligarchs and special interests control the government.
