Thought Of The Day. May 4, 2016

Instead of posting status updates on Facebook, I am now posting each apothegm, thought, observation, and witticism, here, as a Thought Of The Day.

Today’s Thought:

I am an admirer of Chris Hedges, and find much of his work to be profound. His observations about the corporate state are both accurate and troubling. He and I diverge on the issue of voting. He sees it a futile exercise. I see it as the only thing that can be done if we are unwilling to take up arms.

Author’s Notes:

I am unaware of any other blog with the Armory’s mission of radicalizing the animal movement. I certainly hope I am not alone, and that there are similar sentiments being expressed by comrades unknown to me.

If you know of other blogs dedicated to animal rights and the defeat of capitalism, please comment with a link.

• Be sure to follow the Armory and share it with your Facebook friends and email contacts, as well as on Twitter, Google, and all other social media platforms. Our influence and effectiveness is dependent upon you!

• Be sure to visit Armory of the Revolution’s new commissary and bookstore: The Supply Depot

You will find recommended reading on Animal Rights, revolutionary theory, politics, economics, religion, science, and atheism. There is also a section of supplies for animal liberationists, hunt saboteurs, and social revolutionaries. This is all brand new, and we will be adding lots more merchandise in the near future!

Feel free to comment. I encourage open discussion and welcome other opinions. I moderate comments because this blog has been attacked by hunters and right wing trolls. I approve comments that are critical as well as those which agree with me. Comments that I will not tolerate are those that are spam, threatening, disrespectful, or which promote animal abuse and cruelty.

  1. Morrissey is also anti-voting. But I myself vote regularly and study the ballot to make sure I comprehend what I’m voting for. I may not benefit, but I am dutiful.

  2. Bernie is awesome!! I noticed a lot of what was said in this article was opinions. Opinions are great!! I have one as well. Vote for the Democratic nominee!!! There is something to say about Hillary’s experience. Obama used the broken system!!! Yes… We’d all like to get money out of elections, and lobbying should be illegal!!! I don’t have a lobbiest. Do you? To announce not voting at all is a spoiled rotten way to be!!! ” I didn’t get my way, so I will take my toys and go home” WOW. Who do you think Bernie will vote for if he is not the nominee? HILLARY!!! Who will Hillary vote for if Bernie is the nominee? BERNIE!!! So, if you don’t vote shut up. You don’t get to bitch!!! Change won’t happen overnight!! It danm sure won’t happen without everyone coming together. Republicans are the hate group. At least Democrats understand bringing everyone into the mix. The world will never be perfect. No two people always agree!!! I don’t always agree with my husband. I disagree with Bernie on the guns. NO COMPANY SHOULD BR ABOVE BEING SUED!!!! Sandy hook parents should have the right to try!!! Hillary shouldn’t have voted for the Iraq war. I don’t need to hate or be against either!!!!!! Thanks. Randy Trabing

    • Allowing Hillary to win the presidency will put all we have done in jeopardy. Hillary and her cohorts will effectively stymie or kill Bernie’s revolution. If Hillary is defeated, Bernie will be the most influential Democrat in the country, the revolution will continue full speed, and we will nominate Warren or another progressive in 2020. Voting for Trump is not voting for the lesser of two evils, it is strategically excising evil from the leadership of the Democratic party.

  3. I also admire Chris Hedges. It occurs to me that some of the issues he focused on–the dangers of religious fascism, the sell-out of the liberals to the corporate class, and the reporting on our neglect of Pine Ridge and other depressed areas and groups –may be one reason for what is happening now. As for voting, it gets discouraging to just check the candidate who will probably do the least harm.
