Instead of posting status updates on Facebook, I am now posting each apothegm, thought, observation, and witticism, here, as a Thought Of The Day.

Today’s Thought:

There are those who believe “green” capitalism is possible. I am not one of them. To rein in capitalism to the point that it is unable to bribe governments and purchase public opinion and public policy, you no longer have capitalism, but state socialism. Capitalism requires consumption and an unending supply of natural resources, customers, and cheap labor. It rewards greed and avarice, and discourages empathy and compassion. But the biggest problem with capitalism is the cruelty and horror of the Animal Holocaust. Capitalism is the author of almost all animal exploitation and death in the world. The only way to eliminate the Animal Holocaust is to ban animal ownership. That alone would undo capitalism, as private property is the Holy Grail of capitalists.

• I am unaware of any other blog with the Armory’s mission of radicalizing the animal movement. I certainly hope I am not alone, and that there are similar sentiments being expressed by comrades unknown to me.
