I’m somewhat strange, I suppose (ok, that might not be news!), in that I’ll happily talk to any dog, a horse as big as you like, hold snakes, lizards, rats; I’ll kiss frogs, hug bulls, lie on the ground to meet a hedgehog; all without any kind of apprehension, but from my teens to now, I have been absolutely fearful of spiders.
I can’t say that I have a real reason to be either. Now and then I’ve been surprised by them, but none have ever done me any physical harm, yet my phobia was so great that I couldn’t even look at photos of spiders, without becoming deeply uncomfortable.
I’ve always avoided harming them, and any inside the house would be removed with a glass and card, or they’d be contained for someone…
