Filly Killed at Santa Anita Today – End This Madness

Who in the California Legislature has the guts to introduce a ban on horse racing?

Horseracing Wrongs

In the 3rd at Santa Anita today, Bye Bye Beautiful, says the (Equibase) chartwriter, “took a bad step and suffered a catastrophic injury to the right front passing the half mile pole.” Dead. That’s 41 victims at Santa Anita this year – and at least (I don’t have all the FOIA documents yet) 91 at all California tracks. 91 dead horses – for $2 bets. Again, we need one courageous California legislator to begin the process.

  1. Is anyone filing any sort of enforcement action with the California administrative agency? What does Newsom say about this situation? What organizations are currently actively pursuing any sorts of complaints at the administrative level in California?

SInce Newsom signed the fur-ban bill, it would seem he would be at least somewhat amenable to making better appointments to the supervisory commission.

It would seem that IF California institutes a ban or some serious improvements in administrative rules and/or sanctions, then other states might follow.
