Today’s Thought:

From the outset of his campaign, Bernie Sanders has pledged to support the Democratic nominee. Those of us following Bernie recognize that he will keep his word.

We, however, are bound by no such constraint.

Regardless of Bernie’s public position, he will be infinitely better served by Hillary’s defeat than were she to be elected president.

With her defeat, the progressive revolution will continue unobstructed by Hillary Clinton and her Wall Street Democrat cohorts, and in 2020, progressives will nominate Elizabeth Warren, Alan Grayson, or another member of the Democratic wing of the Democratic party.

This analysis is valid even in the event Hillary and Bernie were to be on the ticket together.

  1. Right- Sanders said he would support Clinton, no matter what. That was a stupid thing to say. By supporting Clinton he essentially has no moral basis. he does have a political basis. THAT makes him a schmuck.

    • I beg to differ. He said he would support the Democratic Nominee. I do not believe he actually said he would endorse Clinton. There are other games afoot behind closed doors and HRC’s candidacy is definitely not guaranteed.

    • I wouldn’t go that far. I think Bernie feels a moral obligation to support the party nominee because he pledged to do so from the outset, Fortunately, we Berners are not constrained by any such pledge, Defeating Hillary is far more important than making a statement with our votes. Writing-in Sanders, voting third party, etc, may assuage our consciences, but will not help Bernie or the revolution. We must wield our votes to defeat Hillary and her Wall Street cohorts.
