Berners! Now We Get Even!

hillary-nominationAfter a year of rigged primaries, a supposedly impartial party leadership, leaked emails which prove conspiracy and treason, the corrupt Democratic political machine has nominated the Whore of Wall Street as its standard bearer.

We progressives are now expected to get in line and support Hillary. Bernie has endorsed her. The alternative is Trump! OMG! We have no choice!

Wrong!

If the Democrats were seriously concerned about Trump, they would have nominated Bernie, who could have easily defeated Trump.

They did not,

Why? Because Bernie would not have played the game with Wall Street and the oligarchy. He would not have sold his presidency. He would have fought the special interests that have controlled the US government under both parties for decades.

Bernie had to be defeated.

And now Donald Trump has to be defeated. Trump is as much of a problem as was Bernie. The powers that be have no hook in him. He campaigned against the same powers that have controlled the government under Clinton, Bush, and Obama.

If Trump wins, the Republican party will not return to the right wing corporatist party it has been since Richard Nixon. Trump will make it a populist, middle class, anti-Wall Street party that will no longer be a mouthpiece for the 1%.

And if Hillary wins, the establishment will have dodged the Mother of All Bullets! An outraged citizenry!

Hillary and her cohorts are scrambling to make this a contest between fascism and bigotry versus her reasoned approach to government.

The problem is that her reasoned approach to government is government for sale to the highest bidder, government that is corrupt, oppressive, and owned by multinational corporations and Wall Street banks.

A government that shovels profits into the coffers of the military-industrial complex as fast as wars can be fought and regimes overthrown. As quickly as drones can be launched and women and children killed.

Berners are not going for it. They recognize that Hillary is the enemy they have been fighting for a year. Hillary has bragged that Bernie has not changed any of her positions. And now we see just what she really is when we look at her vice presidential pick: a right wing, pro life, pro TPP Wall Street sycophant like Hillary herself.

After a year of abuse and betrayal, a convention that coronated the Whore of Wall Street, a barrage of emails proving that Hillary is as corrupt as we long suspected, a fix in with the Obama administration to avoid Hillary being indicted, and the humiliation of the DNC marginalizing Bernie delegates, we Berners have had it.

Berners are flocking to Jill Stein, the Bernie of Bust movement is in full gear, and many progressives are buying into Progressives for Trump as a way to ensure that Wall Street Democrats are defeated up and down the Democratic ticket, making way for progressives to take over the Democratic party.

Bernie has to put on his loyal Democrat face if he wants to wage his revolution from within the Democratic party. He cannot admit that the best case scenario would be for him to support Hillary and for her to then lose. His nemesis would be gone, her ability to stack the party leadership would never arise, and Bernie and his progressives would be heirs to the party machinery nationally and across the country. We would sweep the midterms against the Republicans, winning enough statehouses and legislative chambers to assure control of reapportionment in 2020. A true progressive would be nominated and elected in 2020 and the Democrats would control both houses of Congress as well as the presidency.

The alternative, with Hillary being elected, will mean we lose the 2018 midterms, lose control of reapportionment in 2020, the progressive revolution is stymied for 8 years, the Democrats lose control of Congress for another decade, and the likelihood of a Democrat winning in 2024 is virtually non-existent.

Bernie believes that the future of his political revolution is from within the Democratic party. He believes it would be easier to change the party into a democratic socialist party than it would be to grow the Greens into national contention. He knows that a significant number of rank-and-file Democrats mindlessly vote for the party. And he knows he must be perceived as having helped rather than hurt Hillary to avoid the establishment blaming Bernie if she loses. The best thing that could happen would be, of course, that Hillary is defeated, leaving Bernie and his progressives the major force in the party. But he can never admit as much.

Voting for Trump is only helpful in those states where he might be able to defeat Hillary, so called “battleground” or purple states. Purple states include or may include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico. North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

But for Sanders voters in red sates, those carried by McCain in 2008 or Mitt Romney in 2012. there is nothing to be gained by voting for Trump, as he will carry those states against Hillary with or without Sanders voters. Same with deep blue states like California and New York. Hillary will comfortably carry such states, so a vote against her is wasted. Might as well help Jill Stein.

Sanders supporters in deep red or blue states have the opportunity to make a profound difference to the American political landscape by voting for Jill Stein of the Green party. While the likelihood is minimal that such votes would do anything to affect the outcome of races in those states, the cumulative effect of a wave of Green party votes could operate to help the party grow and possibly become a national political force.

We are not going to support Hillary. We are not going to go quietly into the night. We are not going to fall in line.

We are going to get even!

We are going to make sure Hillary is never president.

We are going to make sure that Hillary can never cheat Bernie again. That she will not be able to stack the DNC against progressives as Obama did. That Bernie and his insurgents will be the heirs of a new Democratic party, out from under the yokes of Wall street, Big Oil. Big Pharma, the insurance lobby, and the munitions manufacturers..

We are going to support the Greens in every red and blue state.

And we are going to support Trump in swing states.

We are going to prevent Hillary becoming president..

Take that, Hillary!

  1. Hillary Clinton needs to be prosecuted for rigging the election by colluding with the press to black out Bernie and “elevate” trump to be her foil and throw the “election” for her. Is this the new American Way of Elections? One candidate can go to the press and tell them how to report or not report on the other candidates? Why are we putting up with this? All Nixon did was eavesdrop on the other party — and even though he was a worm, he had enough moral fiber to resign (but of course back then we actually had a media rather than a 24/7 propaganda and “entertainment” outlet).. She doesn’t have even his level of decency but insists it’s because “russia” — she is extremely dangerous if she can control the press and she’s not even president “yet,” just a nobody, really, another candidate. And now look, the only way they can avoid getting tarred and feathered by angry citizens is by starting WWIII. #VoterRevolt #JillStein2016

  2. You are being very optimistic to say this for Trump: “Trump will make it a populist, middle class, anti-Wall Street party that will no longer be a mouthpiece for the 1%.” That was Bernie – not T-rump. Trump, if elected, would continue to expand fascism and narcissism beyond all know boundaries, he would invade Iran, and do great things for the 1% – because he is a one-percenter. His tax plan would immediately cut his own taxes by 24 million dollars. And then he would force all Americans to change their underpants every day – and we would have to wear them on the outside so the underpants police could check us.

  3. Stop using the word “whore”. It adds nothing to your argument but gives fuel to the naysayer. Also, I almost stopped reading. If spreading your message is actually important to you, understanding to hold back a touch can move you forward immensely.

  4. There is no reason to believe this statement: “If Trump wins, the Republican party will not return to the right wing corporatist party it has been since Richard Nixon. Trump will make it a populist, middle class, anti-Wall Street party that will no longer be a mouthpiece for the 1%.” Trump is a non-stop liar with no political history making it easy to assume he’ll do what you want him to do. Trump cannot be president. You are free to unfriend me. Never Trump. You are suggesting mass suicide. Trump depends upon overseas slave labor for HIS products, has gone bankrupt four times, lusts for his daughter, and promotes bigotry and hatred. He will CONTINUE to partner with Putin and the Ku Klux Klan, and pay for his supporters to beat up anyone who disagrees with him. NO NO NO NO trump.

    • Actually, there are several reasons to believe such would be the case, not the least of which is the current state of the Republican party. Trump and his populists have repudiated the party elite and the doctrinaire hard-line economic conservatives. The party elite were the proponents of Big Business, Wall Street, and the military-industrial complex. The economic conservatives were the primary advocates of right wing ideology and political obstructionism.
The Republicans left standing with Trump are evangelicals, social conservatives, and economic populists.
And it is the economic populists who are driving Trump’s campaign and his grasp on the Republican party.
Over the course of the campaign the political establishment types attempted to marginalize Trump. When he defeated them, Cruz and the right wing zealots tried to stop Trump.
When he won the nomination the Republican party had fundamentally changed. The Republican establishment is backing Hillary or sitting out the election. If Trump becomes president, the party as it now stands will solidify into a right of center populist party. Should Trump be defeated, the rats wil re-board the ship, as it were.

Your rambling diatribe suggests you do not care for Trump. Not a problem. I disagree with Trump on most issues. But I do believe our differences with Trump should be intelligently articulated and bear some resemblance to facts.
The propaganda mill for Hillary and the Democrats has been pouring Kool Aid into the public information reservoir non-stop. Meaningless criticisms such as you are parroting are being repeated mindlessly. What, exactly does “promoting bigotry” mean? Trump has certainly insulted some folks. He has called for a ban on Muslims entering the US, for example. A position, by the way, with which I disagree. But calling for a ban on Muslims is infinitely preferable to killing Muslims, which Hillary has actually done.
As an animal activist I employ a litmus test to candidates to determine whether I will support of oppose them. The test is simple. Will animal suffering increase or decrease if this person is elected?
In the case of Trump vs HRC, the result is not even close.
Trump will abrogate our trade agreements. Hillary will not.
Trade agreements cause the deaths of hundreds of millions of animals EACH YEAR!
If Trump does as he has promised, he will, with the stroke of a pen, do more for animals than ONE HUNDRED animal movements. And he will do so every year he is in office!
All the rest is smoke and mirrors. Neither Trump nor Hillary will be ale to get anything substantive through Congress. Nothing controversial will be adopted. No walls will be built, no mass deportations, no expansions to Obamacare. The House will remain Republican, the Democrats will control the Senate. Nothing of consequence or controversial will reach the president, no matter whom it is.

      • Roland, I would like to understand better how trade agreements cause the deaths of hundreds of millions of animals each year. I am not as informed as I would like to be on this issue.

      • Trade agreements make the production of animal corpses cheaper by US corporations using Third World labor instead of American labor. Absent that incentive to save production costs, animals would not be slaughtered overseas to be sold in America. Pursuant to out treaties with Mexico, Colombia, Korea, Vietnam, China, etc, hundreds of millions of animals are slaughtered each year, and are raised in the most horrific conditions. Trade agreements override US labor, environmental, and cruelty laws. They also require signatory nations to ban Country of Origin labeling to avoid consumer boycotts. (The Obama administration has already banned Country of Origin labeling.) The Mother of All Trade Agreements is the Trans Pacific Partnership, which was negotiated by Hillary while Secretary of State. She called it the “gold standard” of trade agreements. The scale of TPP is so huge that the estimates are that several billion animals will be killed each year when it becomes law. While Hillary backpedaled on TPP when Bernie made it a campaign issue, her delegates defeated an anti-TPP plank in the Democratic platform. I fully expect Hillary to embrace TPP and TTIP if she is elected. After all, her donors are pushing those very trade deals.
